Abstract
The book provides comprehensive but understandable information about basic aspects and concepts of human immunology as well as specific features pertaining to cancer immunology. The issue of vaccines is handled in a pragmatic way, concentrating of the vaccines that are in accepted use today.
Very useful is also the chapter on the immunological work up and exploration of the patient's immune system since it is an approach which will become increasingly important in clinical practice. Finally thwe book treats with issues specific to various tumors: melanoma, kidney, digestive tract, breast, lung and head and neck cancer.
Pediatric and surgical aspects are well discussed and the necessary cooperation between oncologists and immunologists, two specialties in the process of merging, is discused at the end.
