Abstract
This study presents an interpretation of the connections between the works of Alain Robbe-Grillet and Ján Mančuška based on the inherent nature of the intermediality of artistic works and the application of this process to the claddification of Werner Wolf's moder of representation. The attributes of the main mode of description in the work of Robbe-Grillet are subversive towards the novel format, while a very similar, if not identical mode of representation used in gallery space in works by Ján Mančuška is interpreted by critics in terms of narrative.
Description macromode takes on new meanings with the use of the medium.
