Higher education didactics and theory of teacher education as a mens of its development

Abstract

The study explores the possibilities of higher education didactics development within the changing conditions of the university education in the Czech Republic. The historical-developmental and comparative research show that theory of teachers training or university teachers training didactics are an important source of the development of university education as educational discipline.

The aim of this study is to present the fundamental trends in teachers training theory as a possible source of development of higher education didactics. A brief historical introduction and determination of university education changes from the educational point of view are followed by a presentation of teachers training research areas that might provide stimulus for the development of university didactics.
