Fluid Model of the Positive Column in DC Discharge

Abstract

The fluid model of the positive column in argon under pressure several hundreds of pascal is demonstrated in our contribution. One-dimensional model is based on the drift--diffusion approximation of the particle flux.

Radial profiles of species in discharge tube, the reactions among them and their interaction with the walls are taken into account. The mean-electron-energy approximation is used for the treatment of electron reactions.

The model estimates the particle concentration and the electric field.
