Abstract

Article brings new information regarding the origin and history and the original iconographic program of the sculptures on the boundary wall church of Saint John the Baptist in Lysa nad Labem. The new findings are based on a detailed study of pedestals beneath statues.

The key to the new data has become both origin identification signs on the pedestals, just like their stone design. The first led to the realization of the ideological program of these statues, which have not hitherto been recognized and which is connected with other similar parts initiated by František Antonín Count Spork.

The second showed how the file was created and which of that are the work of M. B.

Braun, and which of them are the work of sculptor from Benátky nad Jizerou, Frantisek Adamek.
