British Policy towards Palestine (1945-1948) in Inner Change of Egypt and Iraq up to the Beginnings of the Fifties

Abstract

One of the most distinctive phenomenas which shaped situation in the Middle East whithin the Forties, was the question of Palestine. Great Britain was assigned to prepare Palestinian population for souvereign statehood and governed the law and order of the mandate.

At the same time, Britain sought a solution to cease the tension between Jews and the Arabs. Persisting popular dissatisfaction with ruling classes in Egypt and Iraq was connected with royalist's way how to mannage the both countries and with official attitude towards Great Britain.

British policy towards Palestine in 1945 -1948 and its consequences co-determined dynamic of inner development of Egypt and Iraq.
