Abstract
The article analyses basic aspects of author's rights system. It suggests and confirms a hypothesis that author's rights system emerged due to influence of interest groups.
It employs a historical analysis of the adoption of the author's rights act during the twenties and thirties in Czechoslovakia. The article answers questions such as: Which institutional Framework did the interest groups use and what were the grounds for their activities? Which particular organisations did participate in the process of adoption of the act and how were they interconnected? What arguments did the interest groups use? Whom did they influence? How exactly did they reach their goals? The arcticle presents the reasons of their success.
