Abstract
Migration and the subsequent integration of foreigners impose new demands on education. It is most obvious in the mission of the Czech language and literature subject, whose teachers are forced to deal with the fact that, in addition to native speakers, they work with pupils learning Czech as a second or foreign language.
The aim of this paper is to summarize data on migration into the Czech Republic, to outline its future trends and also to deduce possible consequences for educational practice at Czech schools.
