Abstract

The Anthology "Midnight Stories. An Anthology of Bulgarian Diabolism" contains short stories and longer writings of the 1920s-1930s of five Bulgarian authors (Svetoslav Minkov, Vladimir Poljanov, Čavdar Mutafov, Georgi Rajčev, Konstantin Konstantinov) who put Bulgarian diabolism into its shape.

The book is provided with editorial and explanatory notes and it is accompanied with a historico-literary study "From Tormenting Visions and Nightmares to the Grotesque. In margine of the "Demonic" Prose of Bulgarian Diabolism", devoted to the world relations and poetics of this literary stream.

It is concerned with mysterious, morbid and horror stories, in its Bulgarian form it verges on the grotesque and approaches expressionism.
