Quest for self via education and learning in the hypermodern times

Publication at Faculty of Arts |
2015

Abstract

The chaper has a goal to outline some aspects of a development of relations between key ideas on adult education (learning) and freedom. Education viewed as a right and a source of self-fulfilment is also involved into the analysis.

That is also the case of learning. The purpose of a chapter is to challenge lifelong learning as a concept and set of practices that are based on true needs of an (adult) individual, respects his or her capacities and supports his or her development without any manipulative biases, that are often seen as knit with concepts of education based on particulat values and contents.

The chapter criticises the intepretation of individualised on non-formalized learning as a direct way to a capacity to control our own lifes.
