Publication

Abstract

A handbook on design, implementation and evaluation of non-formal and informal learning in the historic environment becomes one of the project outputs. It seeks to answer the question ""How to enable learners of all ages to engage with cultural heritage in the Czech Republic"".

In general, it provides a basic theoretical insight into the concept of heritage education and learning suitable for all generations. In particular, it summarizes practical guidelines for the development of both leisure time and community programmes for families, volunteers and senior citizens.

Four examples of good practice that are presented in the last section of the book illustrate possibilities of unlocking educational potential of authentic ambience of various heritage sites (e. g. castle and chateau, historical gardens and parks) in order to support various targets of lifelong learning.
