Homeless people and smoking

Publication at First Faculty of Medicine |

Abstract

Homeless people have a high prevalence of smoking (around 70 %) as well as risk factors and comorbidities. Unlike, for example, in the USA. no systematic approach and treatment options are available in the Czech Republic.

These include smoke-free services for the homeless (both personnel and spaces), available treatment including free pharmacotherapy and a dedicated therapist in each community.
