The outrageous crimes committed by the Nazis and their treacherous accomplices in Czechoslovakia demanded strict justice solved by the Decree No. 16/1945 concerning the punishment of Nazi criminals, traitors and their accomplices and concerning the Extraordinary People's Courts (so called the Great Decree). This study includes information regarding the retribution of the small Extraordinary People's Court in Mlada Boleslav, its judgments and aspects which could influence the final verdict: political, temporal, economic and personal.
The final one - lay element - was after liberation strengthened. Firstly in the investigative commissions, and sec-ondly four Laymen with one professional judge decided retribution cases.
These Laymen have problems to understand the complicated cases and the professional judge had to explain them before the final decision. The study included ways of decisions and its variances due to basic analysis based on advisory reports sent to Ministry of justice.
