The study describes and analyses the health status and health care provision to the Roma in the Czech Republic during the Decade of Roma Inclusion in 2005 -2015. The methodology of the study is supported by the available scientific publications and based on a qualitative survey whose participants were representatives of the Roma community, health professionals and representatives of the government.
Special attention is paid to the health aspects of national policies on Roma integration strategy and combat Roma social exclusion and discrimination in health sector. The obtained data indicate a significant health inequalities between Roma and the major population.
Study summarizes the most common barriers that Roma face in in health sector and some measures to overcome them are proposed.
