Abstract
In 2013 - 2014, the Institute for Classical Archaeology (Charles University in Prague) in cooperation with the National Heritage Institute, Melicharovo vlastivědné museum in Unhošť and other relevant researchers, conducted the excavations at Hrdly near Litoměřice. The project was supported by the Charles University Grant Agency.
Investigation focused on the local specific ditched enclosure identified by the aerial prospection. Presented results of the excavations showed that the enclosed area was probably built by the FUNNEL BEAKER CULTURE in the EARLY ENEOLITHIC.
The uncovered site revealed also two burials, which can be dated to the prehistoric era (ENEOLITHIC?). Metal detection discovered the presence of metal fragments of movable artifacts from the BRONZE AGE in the nearby area.
The potential existence of prehistoric settlement in this location is evident on the aerial pictures too.
