Abstract
Academical report and news critically reflecting tradition of international scientific conferences devoted to contemporary folklore; more specifically to modern prosaic genres of contemporary (urban) legend which lasts for more than quarter of century,since its inception at the University of Sheffield in the early 1980s to contemporary big international meetings organized regularly in the USA, Canada and one of the nations of Western Europe. Special emphasis is put on the conference organized in 2014 at Faculty of Arts, Charles University in Prague, which was not only first of these conferences organized in the postsocialistic states, but also one of the biggest ethnological conferences ever organized in the Czech Republic.
