Contemporary Czech studies of Belrusian history follow the tradition founded by Adolf Černý in Slavonic Review in late 1890s. Its scope and intensity have been strongly influenced by belarusians who took refuge first in the interwar Czechoslovakia and second in the Czech Republic.
While the most important resource centers are the Slavonic library, Foreign Ministry Archives and the National Archives of the Czech Republic, majority of latest original scientific research on history of Belarus and past mutual contacts has been conducted at the Charles University in Prague.
