Prehistoric ditched enclosure or Roman marching camp? Investigation of specific feature at the site of Hrdly (Litoměřice district)

Abstract

Given lecture has been intended for the students of the grammar school in Slaný as well as for the public. The lecture refers on archaeological examination of a particular site of multicultural character in the Litoměřice district.

Specific fortification features close visually to the disposition of Roman temporary camps were identified here. The Institute of Classical Archaeology, Charles University in Prague in collaboration with several professionals and institutions carried out excavations and other research activities here in the years 2013 - 2014 within a project supported by Charles University Grant Agency.
