Abstract
This contribution offers an excursion into a continuous (further) training of teachers in the career system of Czech Republic and Slovakia, which should represent a coherent, integrated system of official state requirements for successful realization of lifelong learning. It provides an overview of providers of continuous (further) training of teachers in Slovakia and Czech Republic managed by the state and compares draft standard profiles in teacher education (CZE) and the continuous education of teachers (SR).
It opens questions of professional development in the career system.
