Publication at Faculty of Arts |

Abstract

The topic of the study is Dewey's concept of problem. The concept is analyzed from different points of view.

The first point of view is epistemological - Dewey pays attention to the problem of reason - experience relationship and to the question of the nature of thinking. The crucial topic there is a transformation of logic from a formal to an experimental discipline.

The second point of view is psychological. Dewey describes problem as a vis motrix of mental evolution.

The third aspect is represented by a pedagogical point of view which emphasizes the problematisation as a basis for educational praxis and project method. The goal of the study is to show Dewey as a founder of problematology and as a thinker who tries to overcome traditional philosophical and pedagogical dichotomy of reason - experience.‬‬
