Abstract
The afterword to the translation of a book from one of the most important authors of the history of stalinism. The afterword summarizes the sovietological debates in the last seventy years, analyzes similarities and differences in approaches of various authors, main motives and shifts in debates, matters at stake, and embeds the writings of Wendy Goldman in the context of contemporary debates on stalinism.
