Abstract

A comparative study analyzes and compares methods of monitoring and evaluation of employability of graduates of higher education institutions that has become after an unprecedented expansion of higher education in recent years one of the urgent problems of development of higher education in Europe. The rapid growth of the number of graduates not only causes gradual filling up the usual jobs of graduates of higher education that were occupied by people with lower education, but gradually they start to fill occupation which were traditionally not intended for graduates of higher education.

In such a situation it is very important to see what professions graduates do, how their career develops, which includes tracking number of characteristics, besides other also their competencies. In many countries there is a direct legal obligation for university to follow the employability of their graduates.

Some universities do it on their basis and organize their own surveys, but many enter to various projects that enable them to compare their own position and statements of their graduates with graduates of other universities. This approach is well suited and often used for national monitoring of graduates at the central level.
