The article presents the signifi cant theme of a poor man and poverty within a compact ecological view of the world as shown in the encyclical by Pope Francis Laudato si'. The text proceeds in the same order as the theme of the poor is developed by the Pope.
The crucial idea, which stands in the background of the whole article, is the awareness of the fact that everything in the world is mutually interconnected, including the relation between the problems of the poor and adverse changes in the environment. Individual chapters develop the theses: the planet is poor as every man, the interconnection between the ""cry"" of the Earth and ""cry"" of the poor, the poor on the background of the covenant between God and man, ecological conversion and the poor, the poor and nature in eschatological transformation.
