Abstract

There are as many worlds as we want to see. The way we see things is affected by our age, nationality - in other words our identification with or strong ties to a particular ethnic group - and also by our religion, world-view and education...

Rada Biller is the proof of that. Her father was Armenian and her mother was Jewish.

She was born in the Azerbaijani city of Baku, but currently lives in Germany. She also lived in Azerbaijan, Russia and Czechoslovakia.

As a child she witnessed the war. She travelled across the whole of Russia as a student of economic geography.

She remembers August 1968 in Czechoslovakia and leaving it for exile. She speaks several languages, although she only writes in Russian.
