Sediments of postglacial lakes in the Czech Republic - unique natural archives overlooked by (Czech) limnology

Publication at Faculty of Science |
2015

Abstract

Lakes of natural origin are a very rare phenomenon in the territory of the Czech Republic. Nevertheless, this fact was not valid in the Late Glacial and the Early Holocene when dozens of palaeolakes were formed.

Their sediments are important natural archives which represent a big challenge for future palaeolimnological research.
