Abstract
Chapter deals with actual issues of determination of parenthood in connection with new methods in genetics (namely DNA fingerprint). Particular legal assumptions are confronted with the possibility of fatherhood determination by DNA fingerprint.
It is demonstrated, that legal regulation based on the system of legal assumptions is fully compatible with new possibilities.
