Abstract
The presented article deals with the interpretation of the Hebrew text of Genesis 4, following mainly the issue of the destruction of human relations to the other, to God and to himself. However, on the basis of this negative distinction, the article aims to depict the very essence of relations, which gives birth to fundamental ethical principles.
The article makes use of the method of synchronic textual analysis, accenting the semantic background of particular Hebrew words, non-vocalized and graphic form of the text and also the perception of the spoken text.
