Abstract

Charles IV (1316-1378) became famous by his collecting relics and sacred objects. Some of them were given to him, the majority of them he gained during his jouneys.

Decisive part of them he presented to St. Vitus Cathedral in Prague.

For those relics there were made costly shrines some of which are preserved in the treasury of Prague Cathedral up to nowadays.
