Slavic nations created two main concepts (myths) of their history: the concept of Slavic unity and the concept of Slavic (Polish, Russian) messianism. In the 20th century we can see a shift from the slavophile messianism to the principle definied by so-called Eurasians, i.e. that a specific civilisation should emerge in the territory of the Russian state as a result of a synthesis of European and Asian cultural conditions.
