The paper points to the necessity of reviving of laity in the Czechoslovak Hussite Church. It gives a brief overview of the extensive activities of the laity in the twenties and thirties of the 20th century.
It introduces the subduing of these activities during the totalitarian regime. It notes that efforts to revive the social, charitable, cultural, sports and other activities after the velvet revolution in 1989 compared to the founding of the church were led mainly by priests.
The paper also notes the attempt to restore the lay services in the sixties in connection with the laity movement in the Catholic Church and tries to put impetus to the reception of the document, which would give sufficient inspiration for renewal of laity services in the CSHC.
