Abstract

This chapter interprets forest damage due to bark beetle calamity in the theoretical framework of systems theory, therefore, passed through concepts of resilience, nonlinearity, and memory. As the central question is considered the resilience, i.e., the ability to absorb external system disturbance (disturbance), undergo change, but still retain essentially the same functions, structure and feedback loops.
