New Regionalism in the Arctic? Negotiating Sovereignty through the RTA Networking

Abstract

We introduce the four forms of global network centrality and evaluate their contribution to Foreign Policy Analysis. Then, we test the suggested analytical framework on the ongoing Arctic sovereignty dispute using the internal logic of social network analysis and technical capabilities of MatLab R2014a, and discuss implications for preferences of the major participants of the northernmost territorial dispute, Canada, Denmark, Russia, and the United States
