The paper considers the Ivan Markovič's personality and his work as a journalist, member of the Social Democratic Party and statesman during the first Czechoslovak Republic. It refers to his merits in the establishment of Czechoslovak legions in Russia and his participation in the creation of the new state.
It also focuses on his political activities in the interwar period until he died at Buchenwald. The paper especially wants to recall this significant figure of our history, which has been disregarded until recently.
