Device for exposing and culturing cells at defined concentration of gases within pericellular space

Publication

Abstract

Technical solution cover the issue of in vitro cell culturing of adherent cells (including primary as well as immortalized cells). Registered model represents a technical solution in a form of a device (system) enabling two major applications: 1) exposure of cells to any level of pericellular gas concentration, including, but not limited to oxygen concentrations (dependent on the decision of the investigator) and 2) exposure of cell to rapid and reproducible changes in pericellular oxygen concentrations (but also other gases concentrations, e.g. nitrous oxide, CO) e.g. during intermittent hypoxia exposure where changes in pericellular oxygen concentrations can be as rapid as 3-5 minutes.
