Selected Psychological Aspects of Foreign Language Teaching with the Use of Modern Technologies

Abstract

The paper deals with selected psychological aspects which need to be taken into account in foreign language teaching using modern information and communication technologies. A special attention is paid to the communicative acts and the communication process on the Internet, positive and negative language transfer, audio and visual perception.

It also deals with the relationship of knowledge, skills and automation which a student is supposed to acquire. Further aspect for successful foreign language education is determining the cognitive style of a student and consideration of his / her stage of mental development.

The last aspect analysed in this paper is the key problem of motivation.
