The coincidence of tumorlets and metastases of lung in a patient with a history of malignant melanoma

Publication at Faculty of Medicine in Pilsen |
2016

Abstract

This case report would like to point to the issue of lung nodules, whose diagnostic process is usually complica-ted. Bronchoscopy and CT-guided biopsies may not lead to an unambiguous diagnosis.

In a case of a previous history of malignancy, it is obvious to consider lung metastatic process. However, detection of a single metastasis does not necessarily mean that other nodules are of the same nature.

Benign lessions should also be considered, especially when nodulus are stationary on CT scans. One group of such lesions are also tumorlets that are dis-cussed in the case report.
