Abstract
This article examines issues concerning the precise measurement of Czechia's peaks and mountains. Altitude measurements that are well-known and have been recorded in geographic textbooks for some time may not be accurate.
The article explains reasons for this state of affairs and outlines potential solutions that would utilize new technologies of remote sensing - especially airborne laser scanning.
