Abstract
The effect of trazodone on behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia was examined in a postauthorisation noninterventional study in patients suffering from different types of demenia. Trazodone controlled-release (Trittico AC) proved to be an effective treatment with minimal side effects.
Sleep disorders, depression, anxiety and agitation were affected to the highest degree. Trazodone represents a more safe alternative to the commonly used antipsychotic drugs.
