Abstract
This article aims to assess the importance of construction, of the current and especially of the expected future operating of Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) for its surrounding. This area repeatedly ranks among the economically weaker regions in the so called inner periphery (Musil, Müller 2008).
The text of the article is based on results of the project supported by Technology Agency, which was dealth with by experts from the Department of Social Geography and Regional Development at the Faculty of Science, Charles University in Prague, in cooperation with the association Energetické Třebíčsko.
