In this article, we reflect on the research on European integration in the context of the Czech discipline of International Relations (IR). We pay attention to those academic institutions concentrating on IR and, simultaneously, on European integration.
We reach three main findings: 1) a number of institutions and scholars, who are in the Czech environment tightly connected with the IR discipline, were concerned, apart from the international level, equally with the domestic level of integration; 2) the IR discipline is in the Czech environment marked by a distinct cleavage between a theoretically- and methodologically informed part of the research on European integration and its descriptively based part; 3) European integration has, apart from Security Studies, strongly dominated the Czech IR discipline.
