Abstract

The purpose of the poster is an effort to test connection between religious and historical memory and to bring some knowledge about function of religious memory in the Czech Republic. The assumption come out from the fact values between religious and non-religious people are different.

As for an example the justice can be seen as a political value or as value with divine origin - God is the one who legitimizes justice. We test our assumption on data from research Sociologický výzkum historického vědomí.

Linear regression analysis and tables' analysis show the examined relation is not as clear as we expect. Religious memory represents here by practitioner believers do not have same function as historical consciousness.

The relation between historical consciousness and religious memory is not as clear as it can seem. The practitioner believers more often tend to category of historical consciousness called positive affirmation in contrast with non-believers who tend to noetic instrumentalism.

However it was not prove that there is causal relation between the believing and the score of test of historical knowledges. This relation is mediated by cultural capital (education) and by socio-economic status.
