Abstract

The author presents mathematical statistics and its potential as a tool for evidence based medicine. Interpretation focuses mainly on the description of the principles of statistical inference and interpretation of results.

He also discusses examples of incorrect transposition of analysis and misinterpretations. Further acquainted with the possibilities of using statistical program R, which is freely available and offers arbitrary use of statistical tools.

The book overcomes the distance between medicine and mathematics, and finding common language that provides medical objective tool to evaluate the biological.
