In this book we comprehensively describe the role of gliflozines in the management of type 2 diabetes starting from patophysiological chapters focused on the role of kidney in type 2 diabetes and the mechanism of action of gliflozines to clinically oriented chapters focused on the treatment of diabetes in patients with renal impairment and the clinical data regarding gliflozines use in the treatment of type 2 diabetes. We also summarize other perspectives of the future use of gliflozines in clinical practice.
