Abstract
Since 2003 the historian Florian Mildenberger considered the edition of a basic book about homosexuality, but it was only 2014 as he succeeded in cooperation with some experts from Europe, America and Australia to publish a bilingual and interdisciplinary compendium, which aims to sum up the previous knowledge about the phenomenon of homosexuality. This aim is clearly apparent even in the order of the articles.
The first group of them focuses on the historiography and nomenclature, the second group presents different scientific approaches to the homosexuality and the third group introduces in the everyday life of the same-sex people. Although the reviewed book is not without faults in respect of structure, style and content, it is still an essential source of information and impulses for everyone, who is going to research homosexuality at a high level.
