Sense of Agency (SoA) is a term depicting the ability to distinguish between self- and other-produced actions. In schizophrenia, first-rank symptoms - such as delusion of control or auditory hallucinations - reflect disturbances in SoA.

In our research we studied SoA in first-episode schizophrenia patients (FES) and healthy controls (HC) in an original Ghost city task (GCT), which tests the ability to correctly distinguish between movements that are fully under one's control from those that are influenced. We compared performance of both groups, and in patients we tested the relationship between the performance in GCT and scores in PANSS or presence of the Schneider first-rank symptoms.
