Abstract
Georges Bataille's essay deals with the essential proximity of art and cruelty. It shows that fascination by art and cruelty is based on heading towards transgression of the world order, in which humans inevitably live.
The closeness of death, the closeness of the destruction of the subject, thus associate art and cruelty.
