Abstract

Many phenomena in chemistry can only be hardly explained to pupils, who do not comprehend principles of mathematics. The mathematics also has the problem to explain the importance of its theoretical principles and methods of problem-solving without application of everyday experience.

The article highlights the interdisciplinary connection between mathematics and chemistry and points to mathematics being useful for problem-solving in chemistry but also the usefulness of chemical principles in concretisation of mathematical theories.
