The paper aims to broaden the understanding of the business strategies of the leading players in the Czechoslovakian and the Austrian markets after the dissolution of the Austria-Hungary. It also aims to expand the empirical knowledge regarding the state interventionism, the monopolization of the market and its cartelization.

The strategic industrial sector of cement production was selected as a suitable case study. The paper will analyze business strategies of the largest players in the relevant markets.
