Abstract
The Feuerstein Instrumental Enrichment (FIE) is internationally accredited tool used to remedy difficulties in learning and to developing cognitive abilities of individuals, in the general population, individuals with learning disabilities or mental disabilities, for working with the elderly or the children from socially disadvantaged backgrounds (cf. Feuerstein et al. 2014, Málková 2008, Pokorná 2006).
It is used in the Czech Republic thanks translation by doc. Vera Pokorna since 2000, when it also began to negotiate a licensing law for the establishment of an authorized training center in Prague.
The basic principles of the FIE will be summarized in the first part of the article, then we will focus on the possibilities of the FIE in Czech pedagogical practice and the position of the FIE in the context of the Czech Language Didactics and the curriculum for elementary education and for the education of pupils with special educational needs.
