Significant personalities among Jewish pharmacists from the Czech lands from 18th to 20th century

Abstract

In the Czech lived more important Jewish pharmacists, pharmacologists, pharmacists, military or owners of pharmaceutical companies. The first of theme were were the owners of the well-known Prague pharmacy Golden Lion from important family Jeitelesů.

The significant was a family Fantain the early 20th century. Max Fanta was an important Prague pharmacist and inventor of a new type of pharmaceutical dish - so-called Fantaschale.

His wife, Bertta Fantová organized artistic, which, for example, attended Albert Einstein and Franz Kafka. Prominent businessmen were pharmacist Teichmann (Carlotherm), Dr.

Viktor Stein (Norgine) and Ing. Heisler (Robert Heisler).

Important pharmacologists were MD. Emil Starkenstein and Professor Ernst Pick.

As military pharmacists fought in the 1st Czechoslovak Army Corps of General Svoboda Major Ernest Friedmann and Colonel Helena Petránková.
